Our vision is that the chorale is a club offered to members of the Alliance Française to promote friendship and cultural exchange together with practice of the language while making music.

Our choral director is Kathleen Rayson.  Kathleen studied performance at Indiana University, Bloomington, and sang in Paris at various venues, the most illustrious being with the Choeur de l’Orchestre de Paris, under Daniel Barenboim, chorusmaster being Arthur Oldham for the Edinburgh Festival Chorus for many years.  She studied and taught privately in Munich, Germany.  She conducted a seasonal chorus at the company where she worked in Munich for holiday music.  She is teaching music currently at the elementary level, at Fruitville Elementary.  She is looking forward to working with a choir again.  Kathleen is a fluent French speaker.

Our accompanist is Franklyn Noll Skidmore. Franklyn has enjoyed an international career singing in operas and giving concerts in the USA and throughout Europe especially in France and Belgium – even performing a concert for the queen of the Fijian Islands!  Franklyn has won numerous awards including the Metropolitan Opera Regional Auditions. She has a degree in Voice Performance from Converse College and studied at Le Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. French song literature (Debussy, Poulenc, Ravel, Fauré, Messiaen, etc.) has always been a special passion for Franklyn. She served as president of the Atlanta-Toulouse Sister Cities Committee for 13 years and founded the Atlanta chapter of Les Amies de Vieilles Maisons Françaises.

Franklyn is an active vocal coach and she also enjoys playing clarinet in a Sarasota concert band and in a number of local chamber groups. She is a fluent French speaker.
